Baby birds and Scottish Prizes

Nothing but mouths on these 3 babies. Momma Mockingbird picked a good spot to have her babies. My Mohave Firethorn is very secure from predators with its long angry thorns. I have been checking them daily because of all the bad weather we have been having in Ok. They are doing fine. Momma did not appreciate me this close and dive bombed my head. I had to hurry so the quality is not great.

Last week there was a knock on the door. My mail lady was standing there smiling.. "You got a package from Scotland!" She was excited too! I opened it to find all these wonderful things inside. Annette from http://dragonhouseofyuen.blogspot.com/
sent me a fantastic package. She made Haven a very special bed for tiltys. It is flat in the middle and has support rolls on either side. She made some very touching pillows in honor of Stewart and Nemo that will hang in Millie Mouse and Haven's area. We got wonderful cards for different occasions, some yummy bunny chews made from herbs and the pink balls are for treats, you bun folks have probably already seen them before. You put the treats inside and the bun has to roll them around to make the treats come out. How fun! We also got one of the famous stuffed buns she makes. Thank you so much Annette. It means so much to me.

My little smartie knew right what to do with his bed. He has a good view and support to watch the unflappable Miss Millie parade around the room.

Strange Accident

I was creeping up on Millie Mouse to take her pic. My mirror was sitting on the floor and I accidently pushed the button on the camera. This was the strange result. Look in the mirror see Millie. Weird, even the color is funny looking.

The Queen

Millie is settling in nicely. She has been exploring and investigating things. I am not sure if we meet with her approval. Its doubtful.

I didnt block Haven off last night, just sat by him and we watched her antics around the room. She promptly started hoggin up his leftovers. Look at his face.....What do you think he is thinking about her boldness?

Do Rabbits Have Lips?

Millie certainly looks like she does.

Meet Millie: the newest addition to the bun household. My darling girl holds a very special spot in my heart. For those of you who visit Heartland's blog you may have seen her before. She has been at Heartland between 5 and 6 years until she came to live with us today.

My first day at Heartland I brought banana's for the bunnies. I reached in Millie's house to give her a piece and she promptly ripped my thumb open. I sent her a mental message right then: " You and I are gonna be good friends girl"

Quick background on Millie: She was found many years ago abandoned in a parking lot, while freezing rain was coming down. She was in a cardboard box with a broken back leg. Suspiciously, a daycare sat close by. My girl was cold, shivering and in terrible pain. Jeannie (that's our director at Heartland and bun champion) scooped her up and got her to a vet. After a delicate surgery to pin her leg and many cast changes her leg healed very nicely. Now, can you blame her for biting me?

Millie developed a very slight head tilt last year. Quick treatment cleared it right up. She is a beautiful bun and has settled down quite a bit. I look forward to spending time with her and spoiling her rotten.

Haven is not to happy with her being in his room. He stared at her balefully from across the carpet this morning and thumped thumped thumped. Its okay Haven baby, it will be a while before you meet her face to face and no baby, she will not steal your green yummies.

My mother is an excellent bunny grandma and a very good bunsitter. I came home from work Saturday morning and snuggled beside Haven for our lovin time. I thought the pillowcase felt unusually soft. I flipped on the big light and discovered that in my absence my mother made Haven a pillow from my 700 thread count sheet set. Really Mother? I only have a zillion trillion pillowcases and you go and pick the one from the only sheet set that cost a small fortune and are my absolute favorite?

Mother: " Sorry, I didnt realize, let me grab it and put it in the wash."

Dumbfounded daughter stares at mother intently........

Dumbfounded Daughter: "Uh, its okay, he can have it"

My good friend's son is graduating from college today. I have known him since he was 8 years old. I cant believe how fast the time has flown. This is the last time we were all together. They were having a murder mystery dinner party. I am standing up in the white. No, I do not dress like that, it was for the party and my hair is blond not dark. We had a great time that night and the wine did flow.......
